Billboard magazine has just revealed its first-ever Power 100 list. Irvin azzof ,Chairman of Live Nation , the world's largest promoter, ticketing company and artist management group , is the most powerful person in the music industry.
Azoff topped the first-ever Billboard Power 100 list, a ranking of where power and influence resides in the music business and the industries that intersect with it

Rankings were determined by a combination of key factors including market share, exclusive Billboard chart data/boxscore information, and revenue. The list is U.S. based. As well, the Power 100 puts a premium on the top decision makers at each company.

Artists on the Power 100 include Jay-Z and Beyonce as a power couple at No 13, Taylor Swift at No 78, U2 at No.27, Jon Bon Jovi at No 50 , Lady Gaga at No.84,Birdman at 25.

Azoff's placement at the top of the list is due to his command of the biggest concert-promotion company, the largest ticketing company and the largest artist-management firm in the world. Since live performances are the main revenue source for artists, the touring industry is well represented on the list.

Nigerian novelist Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie's novel 'Half of a yellow Sun" will be turned to a movie soon. Sources including Screendaily.com report that Actor Chiwetel Ejiofor, actress Thandie Newton and dominic cooper have signed on to star in the upcoming screen adaptation.

The filming is scheduled to begin in March and will be shot in Nigeria,to be directed by Biyi Bandele . Screen Daily also reports that "UK producers Andrea Calderwood (The Last King of Scotland) and Gail Egan (The Constant Gardener) have recently secured crucial private equity backing from Nigeria in order to move the anticipated project forward. The BFI has also supported the film."

The film will tell the story in the the novel which describes the Nigerian-Biafran war,1967-70 and its effects on the lives of a high ranking political figure , a professor ,a British citizen and a houseboy,also the main characters in the book , igbo people who are described as one of the largest ethnic groups in Nigeria, and they were also the main victims of this horrifying war.

HipHop Mogul and entrepreneur, Sean 'P.diddy' combs is organizing a Grammy awards afterparty at the Playboy Mansion and a ticket goes for $50,000 .

Sources tell TMZ that the cheapest tickets to the black tie event start at $1,500 and go from $15,000 to $25,000 depending on the service an attendee requires. $50,000 buys the Monster Cabana package, which includes buffet dinner, open bar, free bottle service and two cabanas for 20 VIP guests.

We all have fallen in love with the romantic style of dancing Salsa that it has almost become a norm at wedding ceremonies to the beauty of the flexed or pointed toe of dancing ballet that it has become a part of the curriculum in our nursery schools.

In Nigeria, we have created our own modern dance styles like the alanta,milano,open and close of Shina peter's fame, even the nodding of our heads is regarded as a dance style.

I was priviledged to attend a ceremony in the south eastern part of nigeria, Enugu to be precise and there i experienced true beauty in dancing.

From the melodious beat coming out of the ogene(local gong) to the beautiful tune seeping out of the opia (local flute) which made the ladies wiggle their waist like they had no bones.

The ladies attire was beautiful exposing their midsection and even that wasn't spared in the movement, the men's attire exposed their slim muscular chests clad in drops of sweat.

The buttocks of the ladies swayed from left to right as if it had no definite direction

The vibration of the men's chest could cause an explosion in a girl's thoughts

TV personality and music producer Simon Cowell is launching a new talent competition to find the world's best DJs.

Already known to television audiences in Britain and the United States as the acerbic judge on hit talent shows like "American Idol", "The X Factor" and "Britain's Got Talent", the 52-year-old is looking to expand his empire.

"DJ's are the new rock stars, it feels like the right time to make this show," he said in a statement.

The new format will be co-produced by SYCO, Cowell's joint venture with Sony Music, and Overbrook Entertainment, a U.S. entertainment company founded by Hollywood star Will Smith.

Sony Pictures Television will also be a partner in the venture, which has been in development for more than a year. Smith's wife Jada Pinkett Smith has been involved for Overbrook.The three parties said they would announce their broadcast partners in Britain and the United States soon.

Etta James Funeral Plans Announced,Al Sharpton to Eulogize

Singer Etta james funeral plans have been released .A public viewing will be held Friday for singer Etta James, and the Rev. Al Sharpton will eulogize the late legend at a private funeral Saturday.

A statement from Sharpton's representative Tuesday said the funeral will include performances by celebrities, but those names were not announced.

James died last Friday at age 73 after battling leukemia and other ailments, including dementia. She was most famous for her classic "At Last," but over her decades-long career, she became revered for her passionate singing voice.

The public viewing will be held in Inglewood and the funeral will be held in Gardena, both in the Los Angeles area.The family is asking that any donations be sent to the Philadelphia-based Rhythm & Blues Foundation.

Rihanna has topped Lady Gaga's video views to become the site's most-viewed female artist. The "We Found Love" singer hit 2,068,076,591 views over the weekend.

Gaga, the first musician to hit one billion views on YouTube back in October 2010, has failed to sustain the hundred million-view pace of tracks such as "Bad Romance" and "Telephone" with more recent efforts such as "You and I" and "Marry the Night," which still top 49 and 31 million, respectively.

Rihanna's "We Found Love," by contrast, stands at over 115 million views after three months.

Both women run behind Justin Bieber, YouTube's most popular singer. His videos have earned over 2.2 billion views.

P. Diddy to Launch Music TV Network 'Revolt' in December

HipHop-Mogul ,actor and entrepreneur,Sean P.Diddy Combs is planning to launch a music-themed cable network.

The channel will be called Revolt and is aiming to launch at the end of the year,december 12,2012 .Revolt is being described as a music and music news channel with an urban skew for more of the African-American audience.

The venture is well funded and Former MTV programming chief Andy Schuon is involved with Revolt , say the sources.

Comcast and Time warner cable will provide distribution which would cover around 18 million households.

Comedian Tracy Morgan Collapses at Sundance Film Festival,Rushed to Hospital

American Comedian-Actor, Tracy Moorgan was rushed to a hospital in Utah on sunday after falling unconscious at an awards ceremony during the Sundance Film Festival.

Morgan was honored with an award at the Creative Coalition Spotlight Awards in Park City, Utah when he seemed disoriented during his speech and was escorted out of the building a short time later, where he fell unconscious, according to TMZ.

The comedian was rushed by ambulance to the Park City Medical Center and a spokesperson for the hospital said that no drugs or alcohol were found in his system.

A rep of Morgan released a statement explaining, "from a combination of exhaustion and altitude, Tracy is seeking medical attention .He is with his fiancée and grateful to the Park City Medical Center for their care. Any reports of Tracy consuming alcohol are 100 percent false."

The Unites state department of Justice shut down one of the world's largest file sharing site Megaupload.com headed by Kim dotcom on thursday.

After the Department of Justice's indictment , the Organised and Financial Crime Agency of New Zealand arrested MegaUpload founder Kim Schmitz aka Kim Dotcom, CMO Finn Batato, co-founder and CTO Mathias Ortmann and others.

Their subsequent bail request was denied in New Zealand court as it was opposed by US authorities on the case.

According to the Wall Street Journal, the US is looking to seize a great deal of property of the charged MegaUpload execs, including $175 million scattered across bank accounts worldwide, “a 2010 Maserati, a 2008 Rolls Royce, and a number of Mercedes Benzes.

Kim Dotcom reportedly made $42 million from MegaUpload in 2010 calendar year alone.

In related news ,Rapper Swizz beatz lawyer has denied the rumour that Swizz was made CEO of MegaUpload.He said Swizz was about to be made the CEO before the DOJ shut the site down.

Legenday singer Etta james whose assertive, earthy voice lit up such hits as "The Wallflower," "Something's Got a Hold on Me" and the wedding favorite "At Last," has died.

The 73-year-old died on Friday at Riverside Community Hospital from complications of leukemia, with her husband and sons at her side, her manager, Lupe De Leon said.

She was diagnosed with leukemia in 2010, and also suffered from dementia and hepatitis C.

I have done all the diets under earth including but not limited to atkins diet,dr oz diet,3 day diet,water diet. I only lose weight for the time being and put it back on when I get off the diet .

Exercise on its own makes me so hungry when I am done. who can ignore the look of mouth watering pepperoni pizza,bacon double cheese burger from burger king or the awesome fries from macdonalds. I can't just stop eating and the weight piles back on

I have even considered gastric bypass staring at celebrities like kim kardashian and beyonce, I really just want to be the hot girl on the spot

I wish I was born in the time of my parents when african beauty was judged by the chubbiness of a woman,her christian mother arms and her jiggly tummy but now all that is an outdated fad.

Now we celebrate the skinniness of a woman from skinny jeans,skinny belt,pencil skirt even fashion says it all.

A lot of women have put themselves on unthinkable diets even whilst pregnant as most ladies don't tend to put on any weight at all.

In my quest to discover what the new sexy is, a conversation ensued between I and 2 guys. One of the guys believed the new sexy was the showing of skin, from women exposing their cleavage to wearing of bum shorts which leaves little for a man's wild imagination the 2nd guy disagreed and in his own words,every woman either fat,short,tall,skinny has a bit of sexiness in her own way and I tend to agree with him that the new sexy is appreciating your body the way it is.
